Thanks for the insight. Many disillusioned Venezuelanas have sided with government trolls to criticise Leopoldo/ his wife. The article shares humane rationale for considering negotiation options. Leopoldo is an educated man who loves his country. Let us not loose faith in him.

What I do not get is why the US has not air dropped food to the Venezuelan people. We get your nation has a shit ton of oil, and your cryptocurrency will be used for the purchase of oil, but what about the people!?

They don’t have economic bloacked, US put sanctions on corrupt gov official. They can’t drop food unless Venezuela accept humanitarian aid.

Those sanctions dont affect the top officials, it affects the population which cnt get the same access to food/medicine. U think the U.S wasnt behind the drop in oil prices too? They waited until Chavez died to apply their usual hammer on Venezuela, like they did with Cuba

Yeah it affects the popultion that all assets of Maduro in the US are frozen, get out of here. It doesnt have anything to do the fact that oil production went from 3.6MM/d to 1.3MM/d? And went from 30.000 employees to 300.000?

Are you retard sir? The sanctions were agains gov officials. You can check their names. The red regime controls the 70% of the country production and the 100% foreign exchange, airports and ports. All the food shortage is due to the regime's control

As most Venezuelans right now, my opinion is that the best "pressure" is a military intervention leaded by the USA and followed by Colombia, Peru and Argentina. At the moment there haven't been a cleptocrat narco-State like Veneuela's. Children and elders & sicks are dying daily.
