Flying cars are just starting to inch their way out of science fiction. But that is not stopping some companies from planning for flying taxi services.http://nyti.ms/2BV8qDj

This is a new case of technology running amok.Flying cars & delivery drones pose a definite threat to the safety of pedestrians and buildings! In the year 2016 40,000 Americans died in car crashes, how many will die in flying car and drone crashes. How many buildings damaged, etc.

If the drivers in these "flying cars" are anything like some of the taxi drivers I've had on the ground, I won't be taking one any time soon! Oh, and another thing guys, showing my future transportation in a nose-down attitude is not exactly reassuring!

Looking at how people drive right now (and, no offense, but ESPECIALLY many taxi drivers), the thought of flying cars/taxis scares the hell out of me.

Actually there are already helicopters that do this line of work. In São Paulo, Brazil they have the largest helicopter fleet in the world doing taxi work. $2000 is the average fee per hour.

Would only work in areas of high density of towers & skyscrapers, with rooftop landing pads, short distances & enclosed copter style vehicles which would need safety features to prevent harm to birds & insects.

No, google the Dubai project. They have autonomous drones that carry one person. Vertical take off and landing. All you do is type in your destination and relax. Flies itself.

Yes. Though ought to only be employed in high density areas, for short distances, from rooftop to rooftop on skyscraper towers. Cannot be harmful to birds & insects, needs to be very mindful of birds & insects.

Cool, very thoughtful, I think birdies would be ok but doubt insects would come off well. :(
