Rainy March, went to a pub on Achill. Guy next to me asked if I knew the story behind the statue outside: local farmer built a boat and rowed across the Atlantic to New York. Offered my admiration. “That ain’t the half of it,” he said, “Your man had a look around & rowed back.”
