Good for them. From YAF speakers to Ben Shapiro it’s been increasingly ridiculous to even get them on campus. We had to have a congressional hearing on it. If my taxes are supplementing colleges, I expect diversity in thought to be available to them.

You mean real facts from alternative facts? Got it.
-
Depends what you think facts are, eh?
-
There’s only one kind.
-
Exactly? Not quite - for example, both parties can’t agree that climate change is real. Again, difference between facts vs. alternative facts.
-
That’s what good debate is for. The more the better. I want my kids to hear both sides and be free to make up their minds. You disagree with that???
-
Well if you’ve been to a university, you’d know they debate issues on both sides. Professors tend to ask their students to write about their opinions or ask them to take a stance on an issue and provide resources for their argument, which is known as a research paper.

Has “thinking” become too radical for the GOP? Universities encourage self exploration & independent thought.

Chicken or the egg? Are intelligent people more liberal or do universities train them to be liberal?

This isn't new. YEARS AGO, the Kochs started pouring millions into universities for specific programs/lecturers whose doctrines aligned in some way with their libertarian dystopian nightmare. It was a long-term influence strategy and it hasn't been entirely ineffective.

Yeah, the "liberal professoriate" doesn't teach the classics. I just spent the afternoon with my first year writing students close-reading Plato's Gorgias.

At Arizona State, there are regularly 9/11 conspiracist presentations on campus, so a gun rights podium is hardly the most controversial thing. Also, it seems interesting that people associate a heavy ROTC presence with conservatism, as the ROTC people I know are pretty liberal.

Teaching a revisionist history to support an ideology can only go so far, and is a history lesson in itself

I've noticed recently the term "cultural Marxism" being thrown around haphazardly the way it was a couple of decades ago, so I knew something was brewing deep down in the illiberal policy pot.
-
And none of them ever read a word of Marx...
-
...or Gramsci for that matter
