More sense is coming from teenage school children than from the legion of arrogant opinionated elderly US politicians with one foot in the grave who rule them

“Precocious”? With one word you: a. Showed your ageism by denegrating the amazing courage and outspoken activism of these students b. Played into the agenda of the right who insist that these students “not worry their pretty little heads about grown folks business. Shame on you.

ADULTS have ptsd - it is universal. I am in health field. Very common disorder. Don't make it like it's because they are kids . Ageism.

I agree on the PTSD however I was addressing the NYT’s use of the word “precocious” in the article’s title. Maybe you should read my tweet again and not be triggered by the idea I was connecting ageism with PTSD.

I get it-it's just that people are purporting that the young age of kids leads to PTSD when it affects all peoplewho have experienced trauma

That’s cool. I’m just tired of everyone dismissing these motivated kids like they are little children and not like the young conscientious adults they are becoming.

Very true. Some kids are very mature. I have an 89 year old father in law who is extremely immature. So judge actions , not age.

NRA and our President are telling us the problem is individual, not gun. What a coward argument. The unanswered question is, will someone with bare hands commit mass murder? Lives of those children will never be same because we have leaders with little brain and no conscience.

Hopefully they will fade away somehow, use the emotions like a force to improve at least Your own situation and if You have strength and will enough, also to force on needed changes. You are not alone. Best of luck.
