They have won praise for their strength and eloquence. But when the cameras are off, the young survivors of the Parkland shooting struggle with nightmares about the loss of their friendshttp://nyti.ms/2oqD68b

Precocious? Bad adjective for them. Many are almost adults, and that word seems to infantilize them. Do better.

#PTSD can leave a grown man afraid of the dark in his own bed. What these #Parkland kids are out doing so soon after living through hell is honorable, and anyone who discredits them along partisan lines is pathetic. Takes courage.

It is heartbreaking that these young souls have this to remember their high school years, they will not remember their Spectacular marching band winning states, their prom, their graduation without this being their primary memory. Truly heartbreaking!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️

Lots of counseling. Constant awareness of their moods & eating patterns. We also got our daughter a puppy. Been 14 months - she is doing amazingly well.

These kids should never have had to deal with any of this. They are doing incredible things, as humans have always done when faced with impossible adversity. But make no mistake, this progress is based in a terrible wrong done to them, and all their peers.

It would be more surprising if they didn't have problems. PTSD isn't just reserved for soldiers in war.

This article is important. #NeverAgain children were murdered and deserve our focus and outrage. #EmmaGonzales #DavidHogg and their entire #Wrongsideofhistory generation is being traumatized by #GunViolence. The carnage cannot be measured by death toll only.
