Maybe (some) Evangelicals never gave a damn about morality in the first place. Just a thought.

Lord knows Franklin Graham and Tony Perkins worship at Opportunism Cathedral right next to Trump. Taking in simple people is their gospel.

Because there are many who hide behind religion but are fake evangelicals because their actions speak louder than words. Ask the the real purpose of christians and u will see the actions of many are not what Christ calls us to do.

I have close friends that are Christians, they have found comfort in their church & teachings of Christ. They are horrified about Evangelicals embracing Trump.

Loren, I am happy for your friends. They r what many in my church call “Real Christians”. Living a Christian life is often challenging but in my world the right thing to do even at personal costs sometimes. I am flawed & struggle when someone hides behind religion when convenient

It's like your religion is being hijacked to further a political agenda that in no way reflects the teachings of Jesus. Must be so frustrating!

Yes. Sometimes it can be. But everyone has things that frustrate them so on in life we go...

The hypocritical nature of Christian evangelism might have something to do with it. It's easy for them to offer grace to a white, heterosexual, "Christian" male. But, not so easy to offer it to those they deem "other".

They only ask for help and forgiveness after they're caught!! They never seek counseling or confess their sins BEFORE that !!

Because they have sold out the gospel for political power (and to a large extent have made an idol of American civil religion).
