As a white lady with curly curly hair, I am indebted to black women and the natural hair movement for learning how to better care for my hair. And now I embrace my curls rather than heat styling them, *especially* in formal settings. ❤️

Gosh, who would have thought that appropriating the physical and cultural identity of northern Europeans would have looked so phony in the first place.

It’s called assimilation. You can only appropriate something if it’s taken without permission.

As a plain-jane white guy, I've always admired (and been jealous) of all the fantastic and different styles of "black hair", male or female. Lots of beauty going on there. Nice to see it coming back.

I have no problem with black women wear their natural hair, for the most part, I think it's beautiful.... What I can't stand the ones that don't comb their hair...

Coloring hair, choice. Dying hair, choice. Curling hair, choice, Straightening hair, also choice. Got nothing to do with political consciousness. All personal choice.
