Surpassing its own lofty expectations, Norway has delivered the greatest performance in the history of the Winter Games. But that's causing some concern.http://nyti.ms/2HLh4ET

Any words on why the Norwegians brought 6000 asthma inhalers (with exception approval by the IOC) to the games? That makes three inhalers per athlete and day. I'm curious why their team is full of asthmatics...that can't be healthy 🤔 oh wait....

A cause for concern for sure, but not 6000 inhalers. 6000 doses. One inhaler gives about 50-60 puffs/doses no?

We can have this discussion when they have counted how much they've used. Now it's premature. Having painkillers in your house does not mean you're a drug addict...

I agree with your last sentence. But don't you think it's just a bit shady/questionable? I do, and it's not just about the Olympics:https://www.reuters.com/article/us-olympics-2018-nors-norway/norways-cross-country-olympic-success-clouded-by-asthma-drug-ethics-idUSKBN1EV0EC …

I tend to agree with you. There's an ethical line somewhere, and that's up for debate. The first test is whether they are open and frank about their use of these substances. Which I think they are. But maybe I'm just biased.

I agree, they're open about it. That's a good thing & certainly not comparable to Russia. NOR even got an approval for the doses from the IOC (even though I don't consider the IOC to be trustworthy in that matter 😅) Altogether NOR is still doing a fantastic job supporting sports

This seams impossible. 5.3 million people, the US has 60 times the population. How can the US do so bad at the Olympics?
