To many of its opponents, that decades-long string of victories is proof that the NRA has bought its political support. But the numbers tell a more complicated story.http://nyti.ms/2GFNXl7

Just in case anyone is unsure of the NRA's position. This is a memo NRA Florida uber lobbyist Marion Hammer sent out to members yesterday." Let me quote: “NO GUN CONTROL.”pic.twitter.com/P8qG6fcc03

Out, damned spot! Out, I say!—One, two. Why, then, ’tis time to do ’t. Hell is murky!—Fie, my lord, fie! A soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our power to account?—Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him.

Please the NRA used to represent gun owners- it doesn’t anymore. Few of it’s policy positions are shared by the majority of gun owners. They may have once been a mobilizing force now they seem to be more a bull horn for the lunatic fringe.

Fun fact, the NRA membership numbers are artificially inflated. The NRA offers low cost insurance for gun ranges if all range members are also NRA members. Push hard and they will fold like any bully.

So what your saying is they buy ads. #BoycottNRA people you know what to do. Boycott every media outlet that runs ads by the NRA.

In other words, it's an organization that lobbies on behalf of its voting membership, like all other lobbies.

FFS, the NRA is an organization of American citizens who pay dues; it isn't a fucking autonomous boogeyman entity. If you want to label them 'USA enemy No. 1', then grow a sack and attack the millions of members. Shit is CHILDISH.

Maybe people actually support gun rights? Banks and God knows what else make far larger political donations.
