What about background checks, which the vast majority supports? What about stopping the gun show loopholes? What about banning killing machine assault weapons, like other states have done resulting in fewer mass shootings? Guess that doesn’t fly with NRA Governor. 3/3

Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter, was 64--unless they are planning to raise the age requirement for purchasing assault rifles to 85, I don't think it will make much difference. #NeverAgain

Raising the age good, but banning assault weapons should be next. Background check and mandatory waiting period essential.

Me thinks it is NOT in defiance of NRA. Rubio and certainly Scott's lips don't move without an NRA string. The @NRA will protest and hope to stop it but they will allow this backsliding by two loyal leeches in order to preserve their political viability

Amazing what happens when an election is coming up and politicians aren't on the same side as the people. This maybe too little to late to save the Governor from defeat.

People over 21 with legal assault rifles attack places like movie theaters and Virginia Tech. Ban assault rifles completely like they once were.

As it should be. Gerrymandering enforcement cases and toxic branding will have politicians starting to remember who they work for.

Unfortunately, this decision isn't being driven by fear of the people. This is Rick Scott starting his bid to become US senator. He is a greedy populist, cut from the same cloth as Trump.
