Guns don’t point and shoot themselves, just like cars don’t! Give me a break

Yet with driver's they must take driver's education, pass multiple tests, lose access to driving with certain crimes, lose access if they have certain medical conditions, and are required by law to have car insurance. Your point?

It's important to note cars are not a constitutional right. This comparison is only helpful to a certain point. There is a minority in this country that is against gun control and are prohibiting progress and proper representation for the majority who want to feel safer.

I see your point. Fortunately, the Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that assault style weapons are also not a Constitutional right.

There is mental illness all over the world. Yet here in the US we have school shootings like no where else in the world.🤔

There is a reason we are all calling it 'gun violence' and not 'mental illness violence' The common factor isn't mental illness. #GunReformNow #GunControl #GunControlNow

Less than 1% (do you get it) less than 1% of active shooters have a mental illness. That means 99% of mass murderers do not have mental illness. Targeting and stigmatizing individuals with mental illness is not the problem. The problems is easy access to guns.

It’s ok to allow mentally ill people to purchase weapons?

Let's deal with the 99% of individuals who perpetuate mass murder against children and citizens as well as doing thorough background checks on all people who want to purchase guns. We can do both as it's not either/or.

Maybe it would be best to allow the downfall of culture of violence and exploitation for more just societies.

Also because the Pres RE stigmatized mental illness by name calling and threatening to open “mental institutions” because they DO NOT FUND TREATMENT- try and find a therapist on Medicaid-Medicare you can’t !

I think its reasonably safe to consider that when someone chooses take the lives of others, then they are 'off'. However, the point of this article is to say that they are rarely diagnosed as such and therefore not technically 'mentally ill'.

So being suicidal is not caused by depression which is not a mental condition? Or school shooting are done by stable people? What kind of fake news are you running over there?

Uh- yet ANOTHER Dr Phil! You obviously 1) don’t know how journalism works 2) don’t understand mental illness diagnoses 3) possibly ARE mentally ill considering you most likely still believe semi-assault are okay even after they just killed another 17 people in a mass shooting.
