Christ this sort of virtue signalling, patronising bullshit is tiresome. The audience gets the context ffs

For Christ’s sake, does everyone have to be this hypersensitive about everything?

The existence of a stereotype in art is not necessarily the endorsement of that stereotype. And when it is, that's the prerogative of art. You are not forced to hold its values or perception of the world. It creates its own world. That's what a "conceit" in art is.

If you can't tell the difference between real life and entertainment, then you're gonna get your art privileges revoked. Nobody needs the NYT to act as the art police thank you very much.

Because I am secure in myself as an independent woman, I would totally wear the hell out of that dress in "My Fair Lady".

My Fair Lady is set in Edwardian London, ffs. Gender and class stereotypes are the basis of the plot🙄

For pity's sake. God forbid we next show Leave It To Beaver with Mrs. Cleary in her apron and pearl necklace. When I was a kid watching, I thought all moms wore aprons and jewelry while they cooked. Mine did, so did my friends' moms. We need to back off a bit. Really...WORD.
