so we're willing to give teachers better pay if they can handle a firearm but not if they are just flat out exceptional at their job?

How can one person take something horrible and make it worse, oh wait it’s Trump never mind. How can he even think this is a solution. I am now scared!

Who is going to pay for this? They can pay for guns but not for free lunch.

Exactly!! They can't give teachers enough money for supplies and resource materials, and yet this!

Do you know the reason 2nd Amendment came alive? It was relevant for a few years around birth of USA, after that, no relevance. I'm not judging but you don't need to have armed citizens in a normal society.. I think it's a change which will come. Has nothing to do with freedom.

Will the next generation of education majors need a master's degree and outstanding marksmanship to become teachers?
-
I find this idea completely contrary to education goals, not to mention it's unsafe and downright inane. As a former teacher, I can vouch for the enormous responsibilities of handling students and their varied academic and emotional needs.
