As someone who actually has natural hair, allow me to tell you that much of the 'natural hair' in the film is store bought. Movies are not life. No matter what your color, in the movie industry, Hair & Makeup are a real thing.

The black people audience was really very more enthusiastic during the representation than others. "It was incredible" said a little girl above me at he end of the film. I am thinking like you that the design is really a part of this success.
