I mean doesn't it cut a ton of calories by switching from sugary foods to vegetables...

It actually says this in the article. The people in the study had less of a calorie intake. So sugar is empty calories and doesn't make people feel full, but at the end of the day calories in calories out caused the weight loss.pic.twitter.com/PUxOQqjuMq

The takeaway here is that if you make sure to eat food of good quality, quantity will take care of itself.

Is this news? Vegetables are healthy, sugar isn't. This isn't new information. Didn't someone do a documentary about this, ya know w/eating a ton of processed food w/sugar? Ah yes, Super Size Me. I think the only people who think this is news are members of Weight Watchers.

It will continue to be news until less than majority of the population is obese and at risk for diabetes, also a million over diseases like anorexia or bulimia
-
I think it’s has more to do with your 1st point (obesity & diabetes). I’m not sure (and I could be wrong about this), but most obese people and those with type 2 diabetes know how they got there. *Disclaimer- not everyone with type 2 got it b/c they are unhealthy.*
