Oh, great and the campaign goes on and on and the very highbrow audience oriented gossip-critic @aoscott strikes again. Clap clap.

A white man having a moment and looking back at things he used to watch differently is not the same as anything in the world actually changing. I never thought Manhattan was about anything other than a creepy man's fixation (or that Allen was saying it was anything else).

The French can have Jerry Lewis but don’t give them Woody Allen. I squirmed through Manhattan. I’m not persuaded he’s any sicker than Mia Farrow. Ronan’s career is stomach-churningly overdetermined. The films stand on their own.

He was a great film maker until he went morally and thematically bankrupt, so he figured he put his disgusting fantasies about teenagers onscreen to the delight of moronic critics everywhere who now all of a sudden turn on his perverted ass in a vain attempt to look moral.

I saw Manhattan once. Woody Allen sucks and everyone who has ever known him has always known he's a fucking creep. This is a tired conversation.

I never liked his flicks before I knew of his sexual proclivity toward children. After learning this, I made sure to NEVER support his work. Yet major actors (incl actresses) continued working with him, & Hollywood glorified him, even after he married his child. Sickening. #MeToo

You wrote a whole article about rewatching the movies to decide if they held up to scrutiny now....and then never gave a conclusion. What I’m hearing is “I still love some if them, but that’s ooky, please don’t take my toys away”
