        Children moving out after high school and grandparents sent to nursing homes aren't much practiced anymore. It's good since the family remains close-knit.

        I guess so, too. I think millennials aren't that financially independent to completely be on their own, the gig economy, and so forth. Lots of factors to consider nowadays

        My youngest child and her husband live with me, they cannot afford to move out. My mother lives with me because she cannot take care of herself. My other daughter's son comes over a lot and that makes 4 generations in one house. It works fine. #family

        My son and his family lived with us for three years. When they bought their house my dad lived with us needed 24/7 till he passed. I could not have given any of them a better gift.

        The multi-generational home isn't a new concept. My 67 year old mother was raised in a farm house owned by her grandfather, the same house her father had lived in since he was a teenager. She wouldn't have been the only one in the community in the same situation.
