Many patients, if not most of them, probably don’t need heart stents. So why are hundreds of thousands of them placed every year?http://nyti.ms/2o3IldE

Probably the same with statins. I’ve read they are useless but my doctor tells me I’ll die a horrible death if I discontinue them. 😐

Patients are at the mercy of the doctor’s experience. Can they get a second opinion at a different hospital? Or will they have to pay more?

What about glaucoma stents? My eye specialist recently is prompting me to get one and I said aren't the eye drops just enough? He invited me to do my own research but I'm really confused. These are the only eyes I'll ever have I don't want any mistakes or regrets made.

This baby/bath-water critique of *stable* IHD, ignores measurable improvements in heart performance from treatment of lesions with segmental hypokinesis, measurable improvements in exercise tolerance & discounts any improvement in pain and quality of life as being placebo effect.
