Many government agencies knew he was a threat and did nothing. They allowed the shooting to occur. This shooting is on Nikolas Cruz and the negligence of the government alone.

The FBI get hundreds of tip-offs a day. They save countless lives by reacting to those tip-offs. They are not gods, they can't be everywhere .

Thanks to the @GOP Congress, even if Cruz was on an FBI and no-fly list, he could still legally buy an AR-15 in Florida.

I think people are missing the point. Government legislation under Trump have made it easier for people with mental health issues to get these weapons

Let’s step back and ask why the agency did nothing. Child services and other state agencies are cut to the bone leaving them with no staff or resources to manage All the problems in the area. It’s the elected officials choosing to cut. Staff ratio in past 1-20 now 1-1000

If he slipped through the system, the final stop gap measure failed us, nothing in place to prevent easy access to guns made especially to kill fast. Time to fix the weakest link, whether you like it or not.

Once someone reaches the age of 18, what can authorities do - detain someone for 72 hours than have to release them? Used to be able to separate dangerous people, but somewhere along the way, we went down the road of inclusion. Now, truly dangerous people walk amongst us.

And the list of government agencies who dropped the ball on this lunatic grows longer. Until these agencies find a way to share information this will happen again. Screw personal privacy.

Can we also not use this time to push aside the fact that we need mental health and those dealing w access to firearms? Also can we maybe get rid of the AR15? And can it be easier for those w access to the mentally ill to make sure these people can’t buy a weapon?

Someone like Nikolas Cruz should never be allowed to purchase a weapon with his disturbing background. Sharing information across a broad spectrum of social and police services will make it easier to red flag those with mental health issues. The problem isn't the AR15.

Oh I started to like this bc your ideas are wonderful prior to that last line. If you don’t bring guns into this discussion you are NOT in the majority of Americans who believe the AR15 does NOT belong in people homes. Especially as a walk-in and buy with no wait time purchase
