As a person who lost his brother in a tragic event where several people died, I can say yes it does help.

To the seventeen innocent victims and their families and loved ones: I am so very sorry that as a nation, we failed you. There are no words to say, with all of the school shootings before this, we have no excuse that nothing has changed. Our acceptance of this is inhumane.

It's heartbreaking! But if they lived in New Zealand or Australia where gun laws are real, they would still be alive. US politicians have a lot to answer for.

Utterly tragic. Do people in your country understand that other nations do not have to put up with this? In my country no one carries guns, not even our police. School shootings? ZERO. I just hope the kids who survived this rise up and become an unstoppable force for change. 😢

Absolutely Bridget.....and long may our gun controls stay as they are in New Zealand; from what I'm reading now, our next generation are rising and will be listened to.

Tragic. When are you going to report of the failures of the FBI who had 5 months of warning. Or the Cops who were in the shooter's home 39 times for violence. Or the fact that the Principal who expelled Cruz for the CRIME of having Ammo on campus didn't report it to cops.

Not to mention the break down of a community who disregarded a person who needed help. Many people probably tossed him aside. Even a teacher said she tried to break him. Isn’t that what the CIA does? Trained psychologists with PhDs? Not a HS teacher....

This kid had ALL the red flags & Cops were called to his home 39 times. The staff at school failed the community by not reporting why he was expelled - a crime in FL. None of the students who knew him were surprised he was the shooter. People could have made a difference here.
