So many warning signs. If a background check had been required & included mental health evaluation, Cruz would’ve never been able to purchase the weapon that he used to take 17 lives. The system is broken, & it’s time to fix it. #SensibleGunControlNow

There was a background check. He passed because he was not on it, but should have been and would have been if the FBI investigated like it should have. It's admitted it screwed up.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I think we need more comprehensive background checks with a better national database.

A system in which this guy could legally purchase even a potato gun is woefully broken and inadequate.

Once reason social services agencies often don't find that a person is a threat to themselves or others is that they have no bed for a person who likely needs treatment..90% more prison beds..but you have to commit a crime for those

All integrity in @GOP politics is gone. They demand Dems give back Weinstein money but keep Wynn money, Trump demands Franken resign but he doesn't, @FLGovScott demands Wray resign, but he won't.

Governor @FLGovScott should resign immediately. He is the head of this department and since he was so quick to call for the #FBI leaders firing he should take responsibility for his departments@actions.

The law can only be as strong as it is enforced. A background check was run on him but he wasn't listed, because the FBI failed to act on the tips they were given. They admit that.

Having someone in my life with mental illness.... the doctors can't do much. Therapy, medication... it helps for awhile but then it doesn't.

This public record of his contacts with many many so-called professionals points out only 1 thing. Plenty of paychecks going out with zero results. The lack of results & waste from all Gov funded projects is outrageous. This is an extreme example right in our face
