Well worth reading, especially if you are hooked on Russian literature from 19th Century as I am.

OK. I get this is Knausgård. I get that "the world according to Knausgård" is a thing (and as someone who's read most of his literary production before it was translated into English, I can appreciate that). But this piece should have been edited down 30%.

Karl Ove Knausgaard is an amazing writer. I am on book 2 of his 7 book story, My Struggle. I feel like I am living his life in Norway and Sweden.

Is it coincidental that this comes out a day after Russian indictments are announced or does the NY Times keep these "Russia is great" stories on hand in case Putin needs good press?

Oh I'll bet there's a hint of romanticising of Russia in this piece.

Very well done. TY! Love the old, old souls you met in Russia. Needed some respite from putin and his thugs. Peace.

Big difference between filtering and spinning to meet media’s political agenda! Which is worse?
