In Nathan Chen's redemption skate, he leapt and leapt — 6 times in all — to land his quads and make historyhttp://nyti.ms/2CsvRR0

Gold medals are guaranteed every olympics. Doing something nobody has ever done at ANY olympics is not.

I recall France's Surya Bonaly did something similarly. She could barely stand after each jump during the short program then absolutely killed it in the long program.

She also did backflips the judges hated. But they loved Robin Cousins doing them..,gee a white British cop skater? I wonder why they liked him?🤔

Did you read about Debi Thomas? That shocked me, I thought she got a MD from Stanford and did well: Former Olympic ice skater reveals she lost her medal to bankruptcyhttp://dailym.ai/2oeUY4Z

Last I knew she lost her license and was living in a trailer park. Sad

If he didn’t skate on his butt during the short program, Nathan would have given the Gold Medal a run for it’s money. He won the long skate program, as well as making history.

Metal or not he redeemed himself & went from 17th to 5th ~ i think that's a comeback. He is only18 and plenty more olympics to get medals. Super happy for him to end this olympics with a clean amazing skate 😀

Let’s see if he can break this pattern of collapsing under pressure. He sure has enough time to think about it.

He is two time national champion ~ he doesn't usually collapse under pressure. He is 18 ~ what were you doing at 18??? This kid rocks. Lets cut him some slack.
