$5 coffee shouldn’t be a model that works.

Aren’t they just missing an evolving business model? What used to be a coffee shop where you could get work done is now a remote work space where you can get coffee. Evolve accordingly and charge for the services customers are looking for.

When we get together with friends, the phones get put away. There is nothing more RUDE than someone's phone going off or if they're texting like a little kid. Grow up.

One hour WiFi access token on each purchase receipt, bill by the hour after that. Either buy more, pay for the WiFi, or find a new home. This problem isn't hard to solve.

Plus, "coffee and conversation"? Who am I going to be striking up a conversation with that's going to welcome the intrustion? "Hi. I'm a total stranger but I'm not a creeper. Can we talk about which era of the band Genesis is superior?"

Was at a coffee shop in Brooklyn recently for breakfast and had to leave because there wasn’t seat. Almost nobody was drinking coffee or eating, just using their computers. We ate our breakfast on a park bench in 20 degree weather

A brilliant business minded person should create an open office space that serves coffee and light food, in an open setting—but customer pays for renting the table, outlets and wi fi included. Shld b cheaper than day office rentals

A very timely comment on a most curious phenomenon. Recently had a meeting at Pegasus and decided to grab a bite in the lobby cafe afterwards. Could find nowhere to sit & have my sandwich. “Schoolers” had taken over and turned the cafe into a library! Not a good business model.

This is what happened in my coffee shop. They used it as a remote office, and spent less than $5 during a full day. We had to start kicking some out if they talked loudly on conference calls.
