"Governors order flags to fly at half-staff. Funeral services for children are staggered, so as to accommodate a broken community. Schools everywhere announce that counselors stand at the ready. And a nation sends thoughts and prayers."http://nyti.ms/2GjDBaE

Here, in the UK, we find it difficult to understand how your society can't legislate for gun reform. We're living in the 21st Century not the 19th.

The NRA and GOP legislators would have Americans flying the flag at half mast permanently. They don't care if our children get massacred!

Thoughts and prayers don’t stop bullets. Gun control has to be a binary issue. No weasel words or obfuscation. You’re either (a) for sensible gun control, or you’re (b) for more mass killings and dead children. Make a choice and own it, GOP.

Wonder how the grieving parents feel about "thoughts and prayers" for their dead children as a result of an unrestricted AR-15.

Thoughts & prayers don’t cut it anymore- they never did in my estimation. If politicians want to pray let them pray over the dead bodies of their own children & grandchildren. Come November the politicians that support the NRA are out of there.

So sick of “thoughts & prayers” - good way to cope, but enough is enough. Action is needed.

There is nothing in The US Constitution that the right to bare arms for protection means civilians should use military weapons . There are many other guns to use for protections
