Subways get delayed for all kinds of reasons these days. On Friday, it was a runaway dog named Dakota.http://nyti.ms/2GmcT0Q

I had a full-scale meltdown Friday as my plans fell apart. I wish I had known! From now on I’m going to assume all delays are cute-dog-related. Glad Dakota is ok!

Really Tippy? How about someone stuck on a train who has a medical emergency? How about a doctor rushing to surgery to save a life, or a fireman or policeman, or for that matter a train repair crew? This was a huge mistake, dog not worth it.

So you’re saying you think the NYPD and the FDNY are taking the subway to get to life-threatening emergencies?

I'm saying I think they are taking it to get to work, including being called in for emergencies, and if they are late they are not available to respond to life-threatening emergencies. I'm saying shutting down a subway system for a dog is batshit insane.

People rely on the subway for all sorts of absolutely critical events in their lives. Somebody could be rushing to see a relative who has moments to live. To donate a special kind of blood. Your view of the world is truly perverse if you mock such issues.

It's outrageous and wrong to shut down the city's transportation system for a dog. What if someone on a stuck train had needed medical attention and perished while waiting for dog? What about a person rushing to an emergency? Shameful insanity.

It seems a little bit cruel. The dog doesnt deserve this delay, duo to save his life?

I complained to the guard re the train being stuck & he then announced on the PA “ for the young lady in coach B, the delay is caused by a duck on the line” - at this point everyone who’d been moaning on about cracked up
