"Black Panther" is about to shatter an entrenched Hollywood belief: that movies rooted in black culture can't be global blockbustershttp://nyti.ms/2oc8BSb

This headline is a total LIE. There have been scores of movies rooted in black culture that have made mega bucks in Hollywood. Quit crying “racist” when no racism exists!!!

Black leads and Black Characters with 2 mins worth of screen time is NOT the same as Black Culture!!!! Reading is Fundamental

Lol there’s no such thing as black culture. A black person from the U.S doesn’t share the same culture as someone from Haiti.

Movies rooted in black culture? I think you mean movies starring black people. Large parts of the globe aren't conditioned by the likes of the NYT to be obsessed with "black bodies," and generally don't want to pay to see them. That's an accurate entrenched belief.

It's based in Africa, stars Black actors and actresses, and represents 1000s of years of Black history on many levels...How in the wild blue fuck is it not rooted in black culture?

Look who created it. It's based in comic book culture, which is hardly black. Wakanda is nothing like actual Africa. Just because it's about black people doesn't make it based in black culture, anymore than Star Trek is based in alien culture.

Way to homogenize all black people. Surely there's no cultural difference between black people in African countries and in the Americas #AmIRight?
