Last fall, a bail bondsman in Mississippi spotted a disturbing comment on his YouTube channel. “Im going to be a professional school shooter,” it read. There was nothing more.http://nyti.ms/2oawJ80

Every gun “rights” advocate who demands unfettered access to firearms for individuals who have done nothing “wrong” - and Nikolas Cruz was among them before Valentine’s Day, 2018 - is guilty of what transpired in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday. G U I L T Y.

How true. These men would not, could not be politicians in Canada or the United Kingdom. Or Germany, or Norway, or Japan, or Australia...

It's gross irresponsibility and we have to start holding them accountable. They are enablers of this awful problem. Their denials and deflections simply should not be tolerated any longer.

One cannot compromise with the gun rights mob. Look at what’s happening to Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, a Democrat, who campaigned on an NRA-friendly platform. She’s going into a desperate battle in November to keep her seat in Congress.

No there is no compromise. They aren't rational. They are religious fanatics. We have to start changing the dialogue and challenging the whole idea that owning a gun for defense of person, property or liberty is either necessary or a fundamental human right.

Increasingly I think we need to switch from trying to argue for weak fixes like better background checks and instead start calling for the repeal of the second amendment. I know that's radical, but ending slavery was radical once too. It starts by questioning conventional wisdom.

The idea that the 2nd Amendment has been misinterpreted is gaining traction. It really was about armed citizens creating a well regulated militia. Under Congressional authority. There is nothing in the framers’ constitution about an INDIVIDUAL right to firearms.

Look, the FBI was busy with 50K text messages, extramarital affiars and manufacturing evidence. Following up on someone who made statements like this and used their own name on You Tube? No time for that.

My son’s friend tweeted he was going to shoot up his school. 6 deputies were waiting for my son the next day to question him. The friend was expelled. The FBI intercepted the text and called the DA. Why doesn’t YouTube fall within this realm.

I applaud that patriot from my hometown of Mississippi. Rarely see good news coming out of the hospitality state of late. Most unhealthy, least educated, worst roads, deeply red, zero progression. But here, a light on my good people. That’s the magnolia I know.

Last century, a casual observer from the rest of the world spotted a weakness in the US gun laws. 'They can go and buy handguns and military rifles with consummate ease' the observers said. From politicians there was nothing more.
