Imagine there is this THING. It could be anything - the point is that you really LOVE the THING. Next, imagine someone telling you, "If you give up this one THING it might help innocent people from being slaughtered". No matter what it was, I would give it up.

AR-15 rifles are no more powerful than other hunting rifles of the same caliber and in most cases are chambered in calibers less powerful than common big-game hunting cartridges like the 30-06 Springfield and .300 Win. Mag. Banning particular guns for cosmetics isn’t rational.

Why are you advertising the bennefits a gun has to be a mass-murder weapon under the guise of journalism? You're making things worse.

So why make a report about how awesome they are at it? At its best it's lazy journalism at a time of grieving for clicks. At its worst, it excites mentally disturbed people and puts them further down the wrong path.

And until we do have gun control, I don't want the media to make commercials for guns.

That’s getting into a whole other conversation about the media’s responsibility to the public... do you want to argue that they should not try to get clicks?

It's not the gun. It's the people that use them in violent ways. Authorities knew about this scumbag but did nothing to stop him.
