One cafe owner unplugged the device that provided free Wi-Fi and tossed it into a bin in his officehttp://nyti.ms/2EqVqrw

I actually understand. It’s nice to have people actually look at each other and converse rather than paying attention to their devices

Many people go to coffee shops to work. That's making a lot of assumption about what people are using the wifi for

Yes, but not everyone does. And not every coffee place is a Starbucks

i think the worst you can do is to limit a client, many just go to concentrate or not to feel alone eventhought the have wi fi at home or just want to study, if starbucks would do that i d never return

What to do? Nothing. Let people sit and do whatever they want in silence. The world does not belong solely to extroverts.

Rather than taking away the WiFi, I would designate part of the shop for laptop use only. That way, some tables rotate customers & others sit w/those who share the same mindset #everyonewins

They could try charging a fee per hour of use for wifi. They could then give a ticket redeemable for the same amount in food and beverages. That way it guarantees the patron spends at least x amount w/o really feeling charged for wifi.

It’s pretty crappy to blame the customers for the free Wi-Fi. If you don’t like people hanging around your store try this: get rid of the chairs.

It's better to stick to your laptop and mind your business. Some people can be very rude when you try to start a conversation or they'll accuse you of harassing them.
