For years, wealth has been rising faster than incomes, driven by stock prices. And that’s a problem for the economy.http://nyti.ms/2EpVdB1

The USA economy has been failing for year, just observe our declining std of living. Leave it to an economist to miss the fact that half of all outstanding shares have been re-purchased in the past 15 years. The USA has been exporting jobs, and investment overseas for 30 years!pic.twitter.com/kxamMRm8c9

Hmm. Let us not conflate the UNREALIZED appreciation of securities with the accumulation of wealth. Markets often fluctuate downward before liquidation. Often there is no liquidation and resultant consumption at all. This latter point must be carefully considered.

Tell me 2 or 3 really good reasons the world needs a stock market, and I'll start playing the lottery. Poor boys stocks.
