In 2016, Adam Rippon was subsisting mostly on a daily diet of 3 slices of grain bread topped with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. He supplemented his “meals” with 3 cups of coffee, each sweetened with 6 packs of Splenda.http://nyti.ms/2nZYWya

I'm glad the @nytimes is looking at eating disorders lately. But this article needs more input from experts. It has a fatalism to it, as if this just what male figure skaters do, rather than calling the behavior for what it is & putting pressure on @USFigureSkating to address it.

Also, besides mentioning the stress fracture/broken ankle and Karen Carpenter's death, there's no acknowledgment of how dangerous eating disorders are. They have the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder. They do not set you up to succeed in the Olympics.

@bykaren another secret about pro sports: #anorexia and #bulimia. Starving to make weight is considered part of #MMA.

Calling it "manorexia" falsely implies that anorexia nervosa is a disorder only women suffer from.

Curious why the choice to only use the term ‘eating disorder’ in reference to Gold when every other person interviewed is talking about disordered eating or eating disorders outright?

Who edited this? He did starve himself, not nearly. There are many problems with this article, but let’s start there.
