Opioid story loved because it let's media bash Pharma. Meth is a homemade crisis. No political gain in attacking it.

Outlawing pseudoephedrine really helped a lot...I mean it really didn’t help at all. Portugal decriminalized all drugs and they’re not having the problems the US has. U.S. answer seems to always be “let’s just keep throwing money at”. Cost benefit of ‘War on Drugs” is abysmal.

Anybody convicted of creating or distributing should be locked up and forced to use the stuff daily, for their entire sentence, then put on a plane and forced to parachute out the door over North Korea if they live long enough to be released.

For western Kentucky, meth never went away ... but, yes, that did get lost when all the attention and money went toward the opioid episemic.

A Mennonite doctor told me years ago that "there is something in the human brain that likes having reality distorted." Shouldn't we study and address that rather than try to eliminate the drugs it craves?

Heroin. Meth. Both are much more deadly than opioids. All three are consumed by CHOICE. Should not be considered a disease. That is fake and used by politicians to avoid doing their job.
