So you’re defending the Russians who were found guilty of cheating with a non sequitur. #unreachable

It’s a farce. Competing as OAR shows what a joke the Olympic Committee is. Let’s ban Russia, but not really. 🙄

It was a way to not penalize all of the honest(non doping)Russian athletes.

I get that, but Russia (& the former USSR) has a long history of doping. It doesn’t send a strong message when athletes from banned countries still get to compete. I get the idea of being fair to athletes that didn’t cheat, but is it fair to the other countries & their athletes?

Thank you. Lots of feelings are misdirected and egos get in the way of intellectual honesty. Your points were valid and you deserve to be told that.

They are Russians who underwent very strict tests & are clean. They should be allowed to represent their own country, hear their hymn, see their flag, wear the colors. No one should force an athlete to abandon own country. If it was done to my country,I would be broken. Its cruel

And finally, you want to represent your country because of your pride in it. If you're OK with what team Russia did in 2014, then you don't deserve to compete as an athlete. There really should be no pride in Russian athletics after their actions.

Im Slovak. Look what Russia did to us. Politicians of my country are corrupted swines. Yet I still love my country & would love to proudly represent my people. Especially in dire political situation to give them something to be proud of.

Maybe you dont understand because your people probably were not oppressed & occupied for 1000+ years. My ppl fought hard to save our national identity. Noone should be forcefully stripped of the right to represent it. Athletes tested clean, let them represent their country & ppl.

They're there representing themselves. They tested clean and are allowed to compete. It is however not a competition if we allow any country the right to cheat. Full stop. This is Russia's slap on the wrist for being an international embarrassment.

Lastly, when we were occuppied,no free elections, whole nation cheered for our athletes,it somehow seemed even more important.Few months ago Syria almost got in WC-for the very first time in 7 yrs you could see deeply divided ppl from all over country to cheer & celebrate together.
