She's British Liberian = white.
Caucausity is on now, this film will be dogged by all manner of attempts to besmirch it because of the "overwhelmingly black" in it. I mean, some white people are hyperventilating about a fictional superpower African nation of Wakanda

Please, her work is not even original, there are thousands of people who do EXACTLY THAT TYPE OF ART. My ex GF back in 2002 used to do that. EVERYONE does that shit.

It actually looks like she stole an African Mudcloth print so how is she complaining that their artwork looms similar? SHE owes someone for ripping off an African design.

Aside from maybe the medium, they don't look similar to me. They're obviously both inspired by ancient African art.

read the article. the artist was in talks to let them use her work. at the end she declined. now this.
-
I did read the article, and observed the art. I stand by my statement

I'll bet the court will be interested in the fact that the filmmakers tried to license her work for the film and failed.
-
True. It's a point of interest. But is it evidence of artistic plagiarism? When we compare the works, the similarities appear to derive from ancient African art. If I were in the court room, I'd argue any commonalities stem from that source.
-
I wonder what really happened. If the truth is they hired an artist to recreate what they had envisioned doing with her work, she has a case.
