I don't see a resemblance at all other than the colors. The patterns are different.

This situation is similar to me using my Grandma's recipe that I got from my mom. Then a cousin I never met using Grandma's same recipe except they got it from their mama. The recipe has been there. Theres no exclusivity we grew up eating the same food. The symbols aren't unique

Appreciate the food comparison. I'm suddenly hungry.

She stole the style from African art...will she be paying every single person on the continent of Africa for stealing our culture?

I'm old. Someone explain what I'm missing please. They look like hieroglyphics. Can anyone claim ownership of random hieroglyphics?

I don’t know, this looks like many of my meeting note doodles in the borders it would be hard to claim as ones own as it isn’t identical and a common use of patterns

Knowing anything about the design & music video worlds there is little doubt this is true. Kendrick was also likely blindsided. A culture of lazy, creative theft & re-appropriation runs unchecked in the design community. Steal first, explain later.

They definitely stole that shit. When I first saw the video, I immediately thought this was her work

Can't Lamar rely on his own art to succeed?
