Unemployment is falling, but wages aren't rising as they should. That's because more firms are giving out one-time bonuses instead of raises.http://nyti.ms/2EVCs9J

A $1/hr raise would cost a company ~$2100/yr. So a one time $1k bonus is way cheaper. Wake up people. What these companies got in permanent tax breaks will only line the pockets of shareholders and CEOs!

And bonuses get taxed at a higher rate. Trickle down economics is not a bonus, it's wage growth. After that bonus is gone they are right back where they were. #GOPTaxScamBill

Tax cuts give to the companies forever. Bonuses are one time and pretty low cost for companies. Plus it’s a short term way to say “good job” to Trump and Repubs, trying to affect public sentiment going into elections.

Employers can now justify not giving raises because the tax cut did it for them 😡

I'm glad someone is paying attention! That's because that's the deal that was made people enjoy getting lump sums of money not realizing it's a lump sum and if you don't save it for a rainy day it'll go quick and it was only $1,000 I'm glad eyes are opening. Make sure you vote!

Told ya. Knew it. Lived through it under Reagan. Never worked, never will. But the workers are getting restless.

Rather have the raise. That's constant. The bonus is taxed and you receive like 50% of it.This is the cheap way for employers. They give out the bonus but write it off on their taxes. They got a tax decrease & a write off on the money. The employee is not really winning overall.

Yet the cash stuffed corporations give a 1 time bonus. Their tax cut is permanent. Corporate America won’t pay more till America organizes and demands their share.
