        Finally! I was a bridesmaid 4 times in my 20s and had to refuse the next requests because of cost (airfare, dresses, gifts, parties). Couldn’t afford it! So mimic the French: no bridesmaids/groomsmen: just 2 children walking up the aisle, behind the bride.

        Most young people who I know who have gotten married went to the court house the first time. No one wants to spend rediculous amounts of money on a wedding when we all have life to pay for.
