A photo of a petri dish covered in fungi and bacteria from a hand dryer reignited the question: are dryers less hygienic than paper towels?http://nyti.ms/2EakvTt

I'll trust the scientific research done by people who don't have a horse in the race. Mayo says paper and dryers are about the same, and I believe it. The drying method won't matter much if you wash your hands properly.

YES! And there’s noise polution, all the “stuff” from others’ hands that no one seems to clean thoroughly. That wind, blowing germs into the air. Get rid of them!

If you can’t avoid public bathrooms - bring your own tissues to dry hands and use a tissue to open door on way out

I believe this was addressed by @MythBusters @donttrythis already. IMO paper towels > hand dryers when it comes to hygiene any day. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cleaning a bathroom with a mop is not cleaning. You’re just spreading the filth around.

I think the bigger problem in public restrooms is the lack of changing places for the disabled. You want to talk about disgusting and hygienic? Try laying your disabled child on a public restroom floor to change them. #nomorefloors #changingplaces

Paper towels FTW. They just need to start making them out of reusable material.
