This is still racism. Saying that the actress shouldn't play the role because her skin tone doesn't match the character's skin tone is still fucking racism.

Isn’t Alexander Hamilton played by a black currently? Shouldn’t we be boycotting because Hamilton was not black?
-
You’re welcome to stage your boycott of ‘Hamilton’. There is a logic behind Miranda’s casting decisions, should actually be interested in the subject.http://www.latimes.com/opinion/topoftheticket/la-na-tt-hamilton-jefferson-20170916-story.html …

Whether you agree with the school's decision or not, it was the the school's decision. Teenagers don't deserve to be heckled, threatened, and frightened by people. I'm sure the school will make this a teachable moment for all its students. Endangering people is never the answer.

It is a HIGH SCHOOL play... Besides, it is about the best person for the part not the color of their skin.

So effectively two groups of racists were fighting over a high school musical. I wonder if Disney could make a musical of that?

Our school production had a young black girl play Annie. Why? Because she had the best audition. Isn’t it possible that the white girl was simply the best vocalist/actress and earned the part?
