Meanwhile in Iran women are actively risking their lives to fight against compulsory hijab. Compulsory hijab is a form of oppression imposed on millions of women by Islamic societies and laws. I respect it when it’s by choice. Unfortunately that’s not the case for many women.

Weird that liberal women would embrace a religion that finds women's hair offensive.

Great idea. Market Islamic clothing to non-Muslims and let’s see where this goes.

Is wearing a hijab for fashion an 'appropriation'?

This is great progress! Now we just need to convince doctors to cater to female genital mutilatiin procedures.

Hijab is a tool of oppression. Anyone promoting it, distributing it, selling it is profiting from the oppression of women. If you are caught not wearing a hijab in most Islamic countries you will be arrested or beaten by men.

Yes that's actually have an entire line of something designed to be oppressive to women while saying that it's not.

Why not? I think it's great. Of course the more fundamentalist imams will rail against it because by having fashion options the women may start to exercise a little expression and the fundies' whole thing is about suppression and oppression. But hopefully this goes well!

When you find a niche, you fill it. Macy's has done this with stylish conservative attire for evangelical women, and now they're filling that same niche for Muslim women. More power to them for tapping into an underserved market.
