When Republicans cut corporate taxes, most economists rejected claims that working Americans would benefit. So why are so many companies handing out bonuses?http://nyti.ms/2nQbrML

Unemployment is low. These bonuses keep their employees from looking for other employers. They were likely to give out bonuses anyways as unemployment keeps dropping. Now, they can hand out bonuses and it really didn't cost them much.

That is why my employees at my small business had to be given raises. Inflation here we come.

330 companies announce tax reform bonuses, raises, or 401(k) hikes - very few lol. Check out http://atr.org  for the truth.

A bonus is a one-time thing. It makes recipients feel good in the moment, but no long term impact on company finances. Americans have a notoriously short attention span.

These will be one time bonuses to make people forget about our children’s future we throw away.

PR, and currying favor with the White House. And bonuses are not raises.

Supports optics for reality show @POTUS and @GOP #TaxScam and drop in bucket for the upside of profits, cash on hand, shareholder rewards. True indicator would be long-term investment in wage increases, expanded hiring, training, benefits.
