As one whole spent 30 years in an infant development program, I’ve seen way to many FASE children born; but just as damaging is nicotine AND. caffeine! I’m wondering how many children have been affected by STARBUCKS!

Even Autism is now linked with mothers who did not care for the health, and carried on with smoking and drinking, but it is just a thought. Drinking and smoking during pregnancy can effectively damage brain and even other parts. More research is needed to confirm or deny this.

Well that f-in ridiculous. We didn't have all these numbers in Autism when cigs were considered not dangerous!

If you read carefully it is not confirmed yet. There are many theories about Autism, and its development. It is a disorder that defies all theories now. Have seen confirmed autistic kids becoming normal after six or seven years of age. Smoking & drinking is seen as a possibility.

Never give up ! Remissions do occur, and even the child of a close friend of mine who was declared a victim of Autism is a normal school going boy now after eight lost years. Therapeutic approach is a must. Hope all kids will be normal soon with new ways to fight autism.

So did the human race just never have neurotypical people before 1970? Cause it was pretty common throughout human history for women to drink while pregnant.
