This kind if shit happens everyday on every level of government on all political sides on every govt contract. Because we ignore our govt's wasteful unfair way of awarding contracts now people don't get the help they need. It's time to hold all govt employees for wasting tax $

The Contractor was unable to complete the contract. This failure to provide food per the contract was a failure by the Contractor. The contract is not about government employees.

It's about properly vetting the people that bid on contracts to make sure they can do they job they claim. It happens all the times, the govt awards a contract based on things like quotas and nepotism and the contractor craps out on the deal.

True. And it has nothing to do with Government employees.

Wrong- I was in contracts and grants for the government. The problem may be at high level but we have seen this before- FEMA sent out a”CYA” statement. a contract of this size awarded to a tiny company- someone at FEMA did this

Interesting - apologies to @BaconKnight Sounds like it is "about properly vetting the people". Policy/system could be put in there.

It is, when people who care about government being run properly are in charge. Good governance requires belief in government as a force for good. Does that sound like the current administration?

So this "one woman company" was PAID to deliver 30 MILLION meals to starving people and she only delivered 50,000 meals instead, and then she POCKETED the rest of the $$ for herself, as a profit, thus allowing innocents to starve!

No one woman is gonna try and cheat the US Government. This is a cabal of people gaming the system. This is why it is crazy to privatize govt. Services. The only thing that gets done is the Money Transfers. SMDH

I hear ya.And wait until they "privatize" the Infrastructure Deals, like our highways for example. Ck out the I-405 Express toll lanes,& the "deals" made w/ out-of-state "contractors" who made $$ at the expense of Tax payers.https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/the-i-405-toll-lane-experiment-hows-it-working-for-drivers-state/ …

PRIVATIZATION is code for TAPPING INTO TAXPAYER Trough. We are getting Nothing for our Tax Dollars while our Schools, Infrastructure and Environment CRUMBLES.

And Yours. I am so worried, what will happen when this stuff all unfolds. It reminds me of Jack Nicholson when he said "You Can't Handle the TRUTH" There is no accountability for these people as HARD WORKING PEOPLE are working 2 & 3 jobs just to be broke.

“Tiffany Brown, an Atlanta entrepreneur with no experience in large-scale disaster relief and at least five canceled government contracts in her past.” - this isnt just unjust, but blatant corruption and misappropriation of tax-payers dollars. #PuertoRico deserves justice!

It’s appalling how our government has failed the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico. Given how Bush was skewered for his handling of Katrina, it’s baffling how Trump hasn’t been criticized daily on this.

This should be a major platform for 2018. The way Americans who have suffered through an absolute tragedy have been treated is beyond disgraceful.
