        It's interesting, but I don't think that halting activity qualifies as being conscious. At least, not in the way that we comprehend consciousness.

        It seems to raise questions about the nature of anesthetics, and the way that anesthetics affect actual consciousness (by slowing transmission of signals between cells). There is no reason to think that sun-facing or insect-eating plants have any kind of consciousness.
