The whole comfort animal scam is out of control. We have gone from the important allowance of letting guide dogs accompany owners to having animals that are disgusting on planes for their owners egos. Time to get real and control this

How about we focus on the scam of airlines nickel and diming us. This doesn’t even rate as a problem when I fly.

The conclusion of this piece is more important than the article. Trust is critical for a well functioning society.

@AustinNeaves it's pretty bad if you're getting called out by a liberal news paper. I agree, people have taken too much advantage of flying their pets.

I want to sit next to someone who brings an emotional support panda on a flight.

With all the hoopla over Dexter the peacock don't forget that many handicapped people have a legitimate need to travel with their service animals. They should not face hostility or scorn because of a few bad apples.

The safety of the passengers is the number one priority on a plane if you can’t have a dog or a cat stay home. A peacock is an extremely aggressive animal, what this woman needs is a good psychiatrist

People should not be taking advantage like this! I’ve traveled over a million miles and saw the rise of “emotional support” pets- and saw/smelt untrained dogs taking craps/yapping. Just wrong. This has now spilt over to NYC restaurants. @nycgov

I do not want to sit next to any pet while on an airplane flight. I am willing to put aside my feelings and tolerate seeing eye dogs in support of person with a physical handicap, but comfort pets are a bridge too far. Pets are regularly showing up on flights now.
