Why are well-behaved & contained pets a problem? People who own pets see them as family. I don't tell others which family member they can or cannot travel with - you have no right to tell me who I should travel with. Simple. Btw, pets are paying customers, just like people.
-
Because it's not doing the animal any favors. I see so many dogs shaking with sheer anxiety on these "family" trips.
-
There are situations when a trip is necessary. Personally, I would never put my pets through such stress unless I had to. The story here is about emotional support pets - animals that help people with PTSD, panic disorders, fobias etc.
-
It's about a peacock and scammy claims of "necessary" emotional support.
-
I am aware of the story. Emotional support pets are not 'scammy' - they are certified like any other service animal. If a person requires emotional link with such a pet, it is not up to others to decide on the validity of that relationship.
-
There is no valid clinical claim to support this perceived need.
-
How would you know? There are plenty of Veterans, for example, who need and use emotional support animals. It's a valid form of therapy for certain psychiatric and neurological disorders.
