Gotta agree. I don’t think using Martin Luther King Jr. voice-over is a good marketing strategy for @Dodge. MLK is universally AMERICAN. He’s not a @Dodge, @Ford or @Chevrolet man. Everyone knows that. Nice try though.m

I understand that King family supported this. So, I guess Dr. MLK was in fact a
@Dodge man!#BigChiefLetsRide!#AllTeboDoesIsWin! -
Bernice King and The King Center both denounced the ad. Unfortunately, MLKs sons have control over commercial use of his words and likeness.
-
Really? Interesting. TO ME - ad see@ed tacky, but I guess if his family made some money off of that, alright then. Cheers!
-
It’s not being received well. It was disrespectful to his legacy. There have been issues between the family re: this in the past. It’s sad.

I LOVED the MARTIN LUTHER KING part of it, it SHOULD have been a COMMERCIAL ITSELF!!!
-
I thought it was gonna be something beautiful. Didn't realize it was a truck commercial til the end.
-
Was VERY DISAPPOINTED! Disrespectful!

If they would've focused on charity work that the company did or SOMETHING to tie back to service. The Budweiser commercial as example. Would've been more appropriate.

Appropriating ideas/people/art to pimp commercial goods has picked up steam in recent years, and it is about time for people to say “Fuck You” to those companies who are playing us. We cannot allow our best parts of culture be used to peddle products.
