The police seek him in Spain. Journalists seek him in Belgium. His location usually remains a mystery, turning the exile of Carles Puigdemont, the once and would-still-be leader of Catalonia, into a real-life game of Where’s Waldo.http://nyti.ms/2EId4Ep

One correction; he did not win the last elections.

Unless you have 68 seats, the winners are whoever can build up majority, therefore, he did win. ciu got the most votes in 2003 and 2006 but the "tripartit" was in charge for 7 years. So really, they didn't win anything at all.

His party just got 21% of the votes and 34 of the 135 seats. Pro memoria: Regional elections in Catalonia are not presidential but parlamentary elections.

Yeah, again: nobody got 68 seats so "the winner" will be whoever builds up majority. Pro independence parties have majority, the rest do not.

This is possible and likely, but yet to be proven. For the time being Puigdemont’s party just represents 21% of the voters and Puigdemont’s role is undefined.

He has been relected. An absolute majority in the catalan Parliament supports him as President. M. Rajoy, flooded under corruption cases, was defeated in the polling stations, and yet he wants to stop that. How? With Art. 155, THAT, THAT IS PATHETIC!

Two major problems which Puigdemont is facing are a lack of legitimacy, since less than 50% of the votes supported him or his allies and the declaration of independence started criminal prosecution. This is now out of the executive control and thus politically non-negotiable.

80% of #Catalonia's population want to decide their future in a democratic way, they want to exercise their right to self-determination. That social demand requires a Political solution. Anything else is a distraction from the main issue.
